Carnage is the son of Venom . The character made his first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #361. Carnage is a combination of a human host and the offspring of the Venom symbiote.

Cletus Kasady was an inmate at Ryker's prison. He shared a cell with Eddie Brock. When Brock escaped, with the help of his Venom symbiote, a piece of the symbiote was left behind and bonded with Kasady.
